Focus on your kids diet everyday rather than specific food. Kids should be eating more whole , basic processed food ( naturally processed food if possible). Avoid packed and processed food from market .
Be a role model . Kids wish to imitate adults so don’t ask your kid to eat vegetables while you gulp on potato chips.
Cover up the taste of healthier food. Add veggies to flour and make delicious paratha e.g. Blanch spinach, grind it and add to flour which will give you healthy paratha . Serve with a bowl of fresh homemade curd.
Cook more meals at home. Avoid outside food as it add more sugar and unhealthy fat . So cooking at home can have a huge impact on your kid’s health.
Allow kids to involve in shopping for groceries and preparing meals. You can teach them about different food and how to read food labels.
Make healthy snacks available at home e.g. plenty of fruits, veggies and healthy beverages (milk, curd, homemade fruit juice and milkshake) so kids avoid unhealthy snacks like soda, chips and cookies.
Limit portion sizes. Don’t insist your child to eat full stomach, and never use food as a reward or bribe.
